LOCATION
The Headquarters are twelve miles east of Highway 191 on Rucker Canyon Road, a county graded road. Elfida, Arizona is the nearest town, and the U.S. Post Office is five miles south of Rucker Canyon Road on Highway 191. Douglas, Arizona is thirty miles south of the ranch and Willcox, Arizona, is forty-eight miles north of the ranch.

STRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENTS
The Rafter X Ranch buildings include a main house, bunk house & porch, guest room & porch, garage, storage shed, shop, 42’ x 44’ barn constructed in the 1920’s, pole barn with butler bin, saddle house. ELEVATION

CLIMATE
The ranch averages approximately 16” of rain annually. The average reported rainfall at the Rucker Canyon Station is 19.06” annually. The ranch enjoys warm summer days with cool nights. Winter brings occasional snow although it seldom stays on the ground.
TOPOGRAPHY
The land is predominantly level to gently rolling country rising to the top of the Swisshelm Mountains. The entire ranch is useable by livestock. A great variety of perennial grasses and shrubs are present on the Rafter X range. Some of the grasses include: Black Grama, Blue Grama, Sideoats Grama, Rothrock Grama, Curly Mesquite, Plains Lovegrass, Plains Bristlegrass, Green Spangletop, Layman’s Lovegrass, Arizona Cottontop, Tobosa, Sacaton, Bush Muhly, Cane Beard Grass, Needle and Thread, and Squirrel Tail.
